I was just sitting in my lovely little apartment thanking Hashem for all of the richness in my life. Anglobeersheba-ites exhibited such kind and loving gestures long since before arrived. In fact, as soon as I heard of the group and 'signed on', you wonderful people started to show me the real 'heart' of Be'ersheva! The real 'heart' of Be'ersheva is you! It is your heart gently touching mine. Your variety of ways of reaching out and aiding newcomers. You have re-affirmed in me the true meaning of Jewishness - a collective social and moral conscience from a variety of people who live in a varitey of ways all eager to share information with the storekeeper and clerks and the relatives. Asking who may have an apartment for rent which part of the city would be better suited, etcetera .So many of you welcomed me, taking the time out of busy lives to take me under your warm wings, I thank Hashem for all of you: your dinners and brunch invites, your suggestions on what to do in the next step of 'aliyah' your looking for an apartment for me without even having met me. Dishes, cups, teabags istant coffe and suger magically appeaed in my apartment before I even arrived ! Barbar Carter and Ilan walking me to the nearby shops, introducing me to shopkeepers, banktellers as if I was were a family member- in fact I felt fully like an important addition into Beersheva life ! Within hours of my arrival Miriam |Green dropped in with a dinner invitation, Hannah invited me for lunch, Tamar dropped in with a few special dishes. all of you I cannot thank enough. Beersheva has and shows her loving heart in so many ways. And I am thankful to all who offered their suggestions, thoughts, homes and times.
